MISSION TO REFUGEES

THE RACIST ABUSE AND ISNULT THEM! THE FANATIC ISLAMISTS KILL AND SLAY THE CHRISTIANS! WE, HOWEVER BELIEVE IN THE WORD OF THE GOSPEL OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST AND WANT TO FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE OF HIS LOVE!! BECAUSE THAT WAY IS THE BEST!!!

Pastor Arthur Casas of our "LIFT JESUS HIGHER" CHURCH OF GOD Congregation prepared with his people more than 300 meals for them.

We showed the Love of our Lord Jesus Christ to the Afgans refugees by offering them more than 300 meals prepared by our blessed brethren of the congregation: "LIFT JESUS HIGHER" of our Church of God , under the leadership of their Pastor Arthur Casas, who is talking in this video, at Victoria's square in Athens.

Efterpi Aronis - Kourpas, wife of pastor & overseer Anastasios Aronis, a children's teacher is sharing the meals with the love of Christ.

GREEKS NO MATTER TO WHAT IDEOLOGY OR PHILOSOPHY DO YOU BELIEVE IN, FOREIGNERS MIGRANTS AND REFUGEES OF ANY COUNTRY AND RELIGION YOU ARE COMING FROM, THERE IS ONE - A UNIQUE AND BEST WAY TO LIVE AND COEXIST: THAT IS OF THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD, OF THE LORD AND COMING KING JESUS CHRIST, WHO GAVE HIS LIFE, BY HIS OWN WILL, TO DIE UPON THE CROSS FOR EVERY AND EACH ONE IN ORDER TO SAVE HIM (HER) FROM SIN, FROM DEVIL AND FROM THE ETERNAL PUNISHMENT INTO HELL! 

HIS WAY IS THE WAY OF SACRIFICE AND OFFERING OF OURSELVES TO ONE ANOTHER! IMAGINE IF WE MIGHT ACT LIKE THAT WAY ALL OF US HOW DIFFERENT OUR WORLD WOULD BE! BECAUSE CHRIST IS ALIVE, RESSURECTED FROM THE DEAD (MANY MUSLIMS MIGHT PROVE IT AS THEY HAVE SEEN HIM ALIVE MANIFESTING HIMSELF TO THEM - YOU JUST SEARCH IT IN THE INTERNET), YOU MIGHT ALSO GET THAT WAY, SO THAT YOU CAN LIVE A BLESSED LIFE ON THIS EARTH, AS WELL ETERNALLY WITH HIM IN THE GLORY OF HIS LOVE AND RIGTHEOUSNESS!

This girl is expecting maybe something more from us and surely a better life!

THE FOLLOWING IS OUR FERVENT PRAYER  AND EXPECTATION FOR THE LAST YEARS

The Need and the Chance

In the center of Athens, just between two large squares Omonoias and Karaiskaki there are hundreds of refugees from many countries (Iran, Iraq, Afganistan, Kourds, Banglades, Somalia, Africans…Former Soviet Union countries …..) who are gathered in well-groups daily, outside in the streets. Most of them are muslims, some hindus and of few other religions. Their majority is without work and some into drugs and prostitution. Their number has increased so much the last 2-3 years that they seem to be more than the Greeks. Many of the shops in the market are used by them and the historical centre of Athens is not the same as it was 5-10 years before! The situation is getting worst, depressive and unbearable!

The Lord has put upon my heart a very heavy burden for these people, to do something for them. I confess that because some brethren of our church could not come in our meetings because of the danger of the drugs and the robberies (few sisters of our congregations were attacked and robbed by refugees) done by some of them, we were praying the Lord to guide us in another place. To move our church to a more safe and clean place, as our services were very much reduced in attendance, the last few years.

However, as much as I was praying about that, the Lord showed us that He wants us to stay in that area and reach out these foreigners with His love and Word! It is something very brand new that never happened before as a mission of the Athens Church of God, a unique chance for us the Christians of the Church of God to reach them out and show them the love of Christ, sharing His saving Gospel. Our Church of God is amongst them and very close. God has brought them close in order to reach, evangelize and make disciples of the Lord.

The Vision and the Particularity

My Vision is to go to those people where they are. To start talks with them one by one – if it’s possible in a daily basis - becoming familiar with them. By that way they’ll come to know that there is at least one friend beside them– a Christian one who loves them and cares for them. Thus, some of them might trust me or us if will follow me 2-3 or more volunteers. In doing that, God will open their hearts for His Gospel to be received and become their Way unto salvation.

The Particularity is that our target and purpose is that we go to them – as the Lord Jesus used to do alone and together with His disciples – and to not try to bring to us during the first approach. Our purpose is not to give them just food or clothes into our church. But to give them: Personal time in communication, personal friendship, personal care and endeavor to ‘catch’ him into His nest.

For the accomplishment of that mission we need: At least 2-3 called by God and dedicated Christians, well matured and above all with a special compassion for the kind of these people. One of them must be full time if that project is to bear good results within a certain period of time.

The Sustainability of the Project

I do believe that in due time, according to the follow up of the Vision, as described above, some refugees will respond to God’s call and invitation and will become Christ’s disciples. That means that we’ll have to teach them in their special place and in a regular basis the Word of God and make them disciples of Jesus in theory as well in action too. As a result we’ll reproduce to them the same Call of God to me/ us and thus we’ll continue reaching out more and more new souls and lives of refugees! And if our Father likes it, He may grant us with a wonderful Refugees Christian Support Centre, or something named like that!
